Annual Cobbett Society Events

The Rural Ride

Each year the Society organises a Rural Ride - by coach! - to follow in the footsteps of Cobbett as he toured the country commenting on what he saw. It is an all day event, encompassing morning coffee, afternoon tea and lunch, as well as a selection of readings from Cobbett and related texts. The event is open to all members and friends of the Cobbett Society.

The Annual Memorial Lecture takes place in Farnham, usually at the Maltings. It is an hour long lecture followed by questions.

The AGM

The AGM takes place each spring in the Farnham Maltings, and members can take part in person or online. It is followed by lunch and a short talk on a Cobbett related subject given by a member of the Society.
